Nevada is the rare state with no weekday city curfews at all. Neither Las Vegas nor Reno restricts oversize movement by the hour, which for a state built around two metros is unusual and makes routing a great deal simpler than in California next door.
What Nevada restricts instead is two specific corridors, both of them approaches to the California line. Loads over twelve feet wide may not use I-80 between Reno and the California border, nor I-15 from Las Vegas exit 33 to the California border. Those are precisely the segments a wide load crossing between the two states would want, so the detour has to be planned rather than discovered.
Travel is otherwise generous and graded by size. The default is daylight; a load within twelve feet of width, fifteen feet of height and a hundred and ten feet of length may run at night; the weekend allowance stretches to fourteen feet of width on the same height and length; and holiday travel is typically open to loads within twelve feet. The permit runs five days. Routine limits reach seventeen feet of width and sixteen feet of height with no maximum overhang once permitted, and gross weight between ninety-two and a hundred and one thousand pounds depending on axle count, with bonus tridem allowances around fifty-eight to fifty-nine thousand. Seasonal weight restrictions apply on secondary routes from February to April.
